Artifact Tracker
Every lab produces a real artifact. Together they are your evidence trail — the raw material of the promotion packet and your interview stories.
Tick each artifact off as you produce it (progress is saved in this browser; export it from the course home). Lesson 12 assembles these into your promotion packet — the more boxes ticked honestly, the stronger the case.
- Scope map Lesson 01 — three problems you touch, one unowned org-level problem, your archetype fit, one piece of invisible glue.
- Trade-off table + recommendation Lesson 02 — a real decision analyzed across dimensions in genuine tension, with the "why" in writing.
- System map Lesson 03 — data flow, top failure modes with blast radius, the evidenced bottleneck, two load-bearing assumptions.
- Distributed-systems diagnosis sheet Lesson 04 — four incidents diagnosed by mechanism, each mitigation priced with its trade-off.
- ADR Lesson 05 — a real architecture decision recorded with honest consequences and fairly-weighed alternatives.
- TicketFlow design doc Lesson 06 — the two-page system design: estimation, alternatives, failure modes, an embedded ADR.
- SLO worksheet Lesson 07 — two measurable SLIs, defensible SLOs, and the error-budget policy for a real service.
- Blameless incident review Lesson 08 — a real incident: timeline, impact in user terms, contributing factors, systemic action items.
- Operability audit memo Lesson 09 — can you answer an unknown question, what p99 really is, and the top cost lever with its sacrifice.
- Strategy memo Lesson 10 — one page: diagnosis, a guiding policy someone would contest, coherent reinforcing actions.
- Build-vs-buy memo Lesson 11 — core-vs-context verdict, TCO with opportunity cost, the door classification, the named risk.
- Promo-packet outline + three interview stories Lesson 12 — three org-level claims with evidence slots, and three stories that end in outcomes a VP cares about.
- Meridian capstone portfolio Lesson 13 — strategy memo, target architecture & migration doc, and operating plan, graded against the Principal rubric.
Turning artifacts into the move. Each artifact has a review prompt in its
lesson — use it before ticking the box. The promotion-packet
checklist maps every artifact to the claim it evidences and the interview round it serves.
